Domaine La Madura (Saint-Chinian)

Route de Salabert - 34360 Saint-Chinian

The Domaine La Madura, is an estate of the appellation Saint-Chinian, whose great diversity makes it a patchwork of vineyards, with various soil types and varieties, different altitudes and several microclimates. Nadia and Cyril Bourgne welcome you for a visit of the estate or a wine tasting in their new cellar, bought and 2015 and offering an incredible panorama.

The estate

The Domaine La Madura is an estate of the appellation Saint-Chinian, created in 1998 byNadia and Cyril Bourgne. It can be described as a patchwork, as a result of the multiplicity of its terroirs, a blend of soil types/varieties/microclimates., making it very interesting.
Topography plays an important role, the vineyards are on the hillside, and the altitude changes from one plot to the next (from 150 to 300 meters above sea level), allowing the harvest to be spread out on a longer period, thus picking the grapes at the perfect moment, without having to rush.

The terroir

On this patchwork of plots, Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, sauvignon blanc and Piquepoul blanc are cultivated.
This diversity gives a wide range of wines, complementing each other.

The vineyards are cultivated in an environmentally friendly way, by integrating the different parameters attached to it. This approach is certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE - High environmental value).

Nadia and Cyril Bourgne have been selected by various renowned institutions' sommeliers, and by restaurant owners who give great attention to their wine list. That is very important to them, and brings the couple great satisfaction, as they always try to elaborate elegant, fresh wines that blend perfectly with fine dining.

Visits and wine-tasting

A new cellar, established with architects Passemac and Roques' collaboration, was finished in July 2015.
Nadia and Cyril welcome you for a visit of the new building, located on the heights of Saint Chinian, offering a great panorama of the whole territory of the Saint Chinian appellation territory.
