Domaine de Canimals le Haut (Saint-Chinian)

Canimals le Haut - 34360 Saint-Chinian

The domaine de Canimals le Haut, located in a former dairy farm on the foothills of Saint-Chinian, on a schist soil. Close to the village, you will be welcomed in a verdant landscape, nestled in the middle of vineyards, between pine, oak, arbutus and chestnut groves. It’s in this unspoilt place that Brigitte and Jean Louis Castel invite you to discover their high quality AOC Saint-Chinian wines.

A little history

The estate is a former dairy farm. Wine replaced milk and has provided for four generations on the property. It has expanded and now covers close to 20 hectares.

The former cow-shed has been preserved and turned into a house, a cellar and several more buildings have been erected over time.

The estate

A family property located in the village of Saint-Chinian  at the heart of the registered designation of origin, Emma and Jean-Louis Castel's vineyards grow on the barren hillsides, nestled in the middle of woodland and garrigue, where cistus, broom, chestnut and oak trees meet.

The plots are mostly on Saint Chinian's schist soil zone, conductive to a great quality wine.

The family estate is at the heart of a small valley, amongst vineyards. During your visit to Canimals le Haut, it is possible to enjoy both the discovery of the vineyards with wine-tasting at the domaine.
