The Cessenon keep (Cessenon sur Orb)

- 34460 Cessenon sur Orb

This majestic keep, nestled in the hillside and overlooking the village, marks the location of the old fortress. At 15 metres high and 6 metres wide, the Cessenon keep was built entirely from local materials. The lower, most recent part has pointed arches, and gargoyles once adorned the angles of the building.

In 1921, three bells consecrated by the cardinal of Cabrières in the church of Cessenon were hoisted up into the bell tower.
